The most prestigious Gelato University in the world will reveal to the visitors attending the Festival (28-31 May 2010) the secrets of true Italian Gelato

Anzola dell'Emilia, maggio 2010 - The beautiful Piazza Santissima Annunziata in Florence will become, for four days, the Main Lecture Hall of Carpigiani's Gelato University.
The most prestigious Gelato University in the world, founded in 2003 in Anzola dell'Emilia (Bologna), will hold 45-minute sessions designed specifically for the general public in order to reveal to the people attending the Florence Gelato Festival some secrets about gelato, product which is becoming every day of more international interest.

The appointment will be from the 28th  to 31st  May 2010 at the  "Villaggio Artiginiale della Santissima Annunziata", at 10.30 am, 12 pm ,3 pm, 4.30 pm, 6 pm , 8.30 pm and 10 pm; participation is open to everyone and is free of charge.

On one of the most suggestive stages in  Florence, you will be able to see Carpigiani's batch freezers, pasteurizers and turbomixes, designed display cabinets,  mega-screens, cameras and an ad hoc classroom that will host non-stop " mini lectures " on Gelato.
Eighty participants per session (each lecture will last 45 minutes and will be held in Italian and English), carried out by Gianpaolo Valli, an outstanding Maestro of Carpigiani's Gelato University, will learn about the different ingredients in a chocolate or a creamy gelato, the healthy and tasty properties of sorbets, the origin and the evolution of the "frozen dessert" and the basics to a successful balancing, freezing, pasteurizing and storing process.
